The Team

Smart people. Brilliant ideas. Who's behind all this?

Alexander Arpino

Alexander Arpino

Managing Director of Veterinary Insights Ltd and General Manager and Director, DBM SARL

Alex runs the company from our offices in Handcross and oversees all the activities at Veterinary Insights in the UK and France. Benchmarking and data have been a “thing” of his since the days before laptops (yes, he is that old ☹). Alex has been with the company since 2002, and spent 5 years based at the French office, during which time he attempted to gain first-hand knowledge of all things edible, and especially drinkable, from that country.

Away from work, life at home is noisy and hectic. Something to do with having three sons and Boris, a very bouncy Labrador. Alex is genuinely bad at golf and spends time on the course reminding himself of this fact – but always comes back for more!

Alain Le Floc’h

Alain Le Floc’h

Head of Operations

Alain is our other joint director of the business, responsible for operations and based at our offices in Versailles. He oversees all aspects of our data processing services, and is heavily involved in any aspect where we need to link data to other aspects of the work we do for our clients. Alain also runs our two French offices, at Versailles and Nantes.

A sometime fan of Rugby (“the only matches that count are when we beat the English”), Alain is also a keen snowboarder and an enthusiastic player of golf – but only when it’s sunny!

Marc Le Bleu

Marc Lebleu

Project Manager and Associate Director

Marc is a Frenchman who has been living in the UK for the last 20 years. He has been involved in the design and implementation of information systems throughout his working life. A firm believer that data can tell you a story, Marc helps our clients make the journey from complex challenges to clear solutions - he only wishes raising his two daughters were so straightforward!

Downtime is spent with his family visiting the Lake District, where counting sheep is the only number crunching taking place!

Philippe Prost

Philippe Prost

Head of Technology

Philippe joined us in 2002, arriving with a masters degree in computer science. His role is wide ranging, including managing our technical infrastructure, customer service and before and after sales support. Not forgetting some project management, R&D, coding and a little bit of coffee drinking. Philippe is most happy when finding solutions for our clients and when not in work, loves spending time with his children, running and kick boxing.

Arthur Rousseau-Petit

Arthur Rousseau

Head of Development

With us since 2011, Arthur is an experienced software engineer with a particular focus on Windows and web technologies. He leads the development team, and is based at our offices in Nantes, France. Away from work, he is married with a young son.

Vanessa Franklin

Vanessa Franklin

Office Manager

Vanessa joined us in September 2017. She is the main coordinator of all things VetViewer, and you’ll have probably spoken with her as part of her regular calls to vet practices. Nessie also handles the day to day running of the offices, and is determinedly organised. She’s an absurdly cheerful person, and is another key member of the team. At home, she has three children but absolutely no dogs, cats or animals of any sort! We’re working on that….a goldfish maybe? We can confirm that Nessie is now the proud owner of a goldfish!

Jonathan Porteau

Jonathan Porteau

Software Developer

Jonathan Porteau joined us 5 years ago, and has become a key member of our development team. He works mainly on our CRM services, both Windows and Web. Jonathan is also based in our Nantes offices, in France.

Hala Nemer

Hala Nemer

Software Engineer

Originally from the Lebanon, Hala joined us in our French offices during her final year at college. Despite an everlasting love for pain au chocolat, Hala moved back home in 2009 but has continued to work remotely ever since. Between work and an almost endless cycle of changing nappies, Hala tries to find time to play tennis – we hear she is rather a dab hand on the court!

Emma Whyman

Emma Whyman

Marketing Consultant

Emma has worked in the industry for more years than she cares to remember! What really makes her day is seeing the positive impact our insight makes on our clients’ businesses. Time at home is spent with her own ready-made menagerie including dogs, cat, hens, hamsters and 2 rather oversized pet pigs. Oh, and not to forget four children. Any spare time is spent with the local running club – a great way to clear the mind!

Philippa House

Philippa House

Marketing Executive

Philippa has been writing blogs for Veterinary Insights for over a year and has now joined the business on a permanent basis to help in the marketing and sales teams. Outside the office, Pip has a passion for growing cut flowers and floristry and dabbles in a bit of Yoga. At home, she has two teenagers and two equally demanding cats.

Julia James

Julia James

Marketing Assistant

Julia is one of our data coders. A former nurse, she helps us with our data information processing, where we transform the raw data from vet practices into the information needed for our Animalytics service.

Away from work she has two grown up daughters and a son, and two crazy dogs!

Boris

Boris

Office Dog

Licking, chewing and sleeping are not activities that would normally be considered appropriate for the work place. But Boris is our office dog, and he's also just a puppy, so we can forgive his odd annoying habit! Boris is very good at telling you when you've been on the phone for too long, and will also insist on being taken for a walk every couple of hours - which means that he's actually very good at re-affirming an appropriate work - life balance in the office.
